Accountants With A Difference
Last Thursday, 9th October, we saw the return of the GM&Co Charity Speed Quiz, raising vital funds for our new chosen Charity, The Edward's Trust. Edward's Trust is a specialist bereavement Charity, based in Birmingham. The Charity is dedicated to provide specialised support for families affected by bereavement, offering services such as counseling, wellbeing therapies, and support groups to help families navigate their grief, through compassion, care and support.
Lucy, Head of Engagement at the Edward's Trust, delivered an emotional heart moving speech about the vital work of the Edward's Trust and with it being 'Baby Loss Awareness Week 2025', how much it means to her personally with the loss of Jack, with remberance and hope for other families affected by the devasting loss of a child.
With the return of legend, Stoo as quiz master, our ten quiz teams set to the challenge. It was a close one, with a nail biting finish, with Jim's team securing the winners trophy.
Graham Cook, Partner at GM&Co,

'We were delighted to host our annual charity quiz night last Thursday and consider it a real privilege to be associated with such a worthwhile cause as Edwards Trust and Lucy Goodway the Charity’s Engagement Officer.
Our clients, as usual, stepped up to the plate and supported us with donations, ticket sales and top raffle prizes all of which were won except the night out with Mark Twinberrow and Graham Cook which was re-drawn a number of times until there were no tickets left in the barrel!. On a serious note a heartfelt genuine thanks to all those who supported us in this event'.
The Edward's Trust,
'We would like to send our warmest thank you to Graham, Naomi, the team at GM&Co and their supporters. The support given to Edward's Trust on the quiz night was extraordinary, and we are incredibly grateful for all of the donated raffle gifts which in total helped us raise a total of £1,295.22. The money raised will help us to continue to support bereaved parents, children and young people throughout the West Midlands, helping them rebuild their lives and find hope for the future.'
