Accountants With A Difference

PRESS RELEASE - Halesowen based GM&Co Chartered Accountants are proud supporters of Russell Hall Hospital’s Baby Bereavement Unit with a new calendar of fundraising activities planned later this year.

Well renowned for their friendly and down to earth approach to accountancy, experienced accountants GM&Co have been keen to give back to the local community for a number of years. In 2021, the firm are set to raise money for local charity Russell Hall Hospital’s Baby Bereavement Unit as part of their pledge to Corporate social responsibility.

By raising money for Russell Hall Hospital’s Baby Bereavement Unit, the team are helping to ensure that the very best facilities in a comfortable and safe environment are available to bereaved families locally. The dedicated baby bereavement suite aims to be a calming, comfortable and a private space with access to specialist equipment in a less clinical setting than other suites.

With successful charity events such as a fast paced speed quizzing night and the infamous GM&Co charity bake off challenge, both set to feature in the fundraising calendar again this year, it’s sure to be a successful year supporting the Baby Bereavement Unit. GM&Co are also encouraging other local businesses to invest in Russell Hall Hospital’s Baby Bereavement Unit. Individual investors who choose to support the charity can enjoy significant tax relief benefits, plus 30% Social Investment Tax Relief through the HMRC’s (SITR) scheme with an additional 2% interest per year for 5 years.

Graham Cook, Senior Partner at GM&Co explains: “Last year we had many fundraising activities planned but due to the COVID-19 pandemic they were cancelled so now restrictions are being eased we can spring into action with our fundraising events”.

Graham adds, “It’s not all about the money, although there are tax benefits, it’s about raising awareness of the charity and supporting Russell Hall Hospital’s Baby Bereavement Unit. It’s a charity which is close to our hearts, with a member in the team experiencing a bereavement a few years ago. As always, we’ll embrace our fundraising challenges and support the great work the unit does in whatever way we can.”

The growth plans for GM&Co continues alongside its corporate social responsibilities, with a recruitment drive to increase the team at their head office in Halesowen.
