The government has announced that the self-employed will receive another grant to cover June, July and August if your business is affected by COVID-19. 
 
The second grant available is worth 70 percent of the average monthly trading profits, capped at £6,570 in total. If eligible, you will be able to apply/claim for your second and final grant in August, it should be paid in one instalment covering the three months.

The second grant available is worth 70 percent of the average monthly trading profits, capped at £6,570 in total. If eligible, you will be able to apply/claim for your second and final grant in August, it should be paid in one instalment covering the three months. 
 
Eligibility: 
 
If you are self-employed or a member of a partnership, then you may be eligible for a grant, if you meet the following criteria: 
 
you have submitted a tax return for 2018/19 
your business has traded during 2019/20 
your business is continuing to trade, or would be except for COVID-19 
you intend for your business to continue trading in 2020/21 
you have been adversely affected and have lost trading/partnership profits due to COVID-19 
your trading profits were less than £50,000 and represented more than 50 percent of your total taxable income. 
 
You can continue to apply for the first grant until 13 July 2020. If your business has been recently affected by COVID-19 then you can still apply i.e you don’t need to have claimed the first grant to receive the second grant. HMRC should have already contacted you if you were eligible for the first grant. 
 
The online service for the second and final grant is not available yet. HMRC will publish updated guidance and will advise when you can make your claim. 
 
You can check online to find out if you are eligible to make a claim (the link is below) – You will need the following: 
 
Self Assessment Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) number and National Insurance number.
